Bullpen BBQ: Serving the Best Barbecue in Atlanta

When you're hungry in Atlanta and only smoky, slow-cooked meat will do, locals know where to go: Bullpen BBQ. Tucked into the Summerhill neighborhood, right near Center Parc Stadium, Bullpen BBQ has carved out a reputation as one of Atlanta’s go-to spots for real-deal Southern barbecue. No gimmicks. No shortcuts. Just honest, palatable hickory-smoked ribs, delicious sides, and the kind of flavor that keeps people coming back.

From Bar and Grill to Barbecue Staple

Bullpen wasn’t always all-in on barbecue. Originally a bar and grill, we shifted gears over seven years ago and focused entirely on barbecue. That change came with quality and consistency.

Today, Bullpen BBQ runs as a full-service barbecue kitchen that caters to groups of all sizes, from small to large . Everything is made in-house, from the rubs to the sides. Our philosophy is simple: smoke it right, serve it fresh, and treat people well.

What’s Cooking at Bullpen BBQ

The menu is packed with classics, but don’t let that confuse you, there’s serious technique behind every item.

Ribs Worth Writing Home About

These aren’t your average ribs. Bullpen’s slabs are massive, it is usually smoked until the meat pulls clean from the bone. You can order them in portions or go all-in with a full slab.

Brisket That Means Business

Bullpen uses Certified Angus Choice brisket, smoked for 14 hours. It’s juicy, tender, and packed with bark and smoke flavor. Pro tip: try it in the brisket plate or grab a sandwich if you're on the go.

Other Meaty Favorites

  • Pulled pork, smoked 10 hours and shredded to order.

  • Smoked turkey, lean but surprisingly juicy.

  • Rib tips, a fan favorite.

  • Smoked sausage, BBQ chicken, even fried fish.

Everything is made to order, and nothing sits around.

Sides Made from Scratch, Not from a Can

Bullpen’s sides are just as thoughtful as the meat. Mac and cheese is creamy and rich. Collard greens are slow-cooked with love. Even the fried okra is made fresh.

Other favorites:

  • Potato salad

  • Brunswick stew

  • Baked beans

  • Corn bread

  • Green beans

  • Peach cobbler

  • Banana pudding for dessert

Feeding a Group? We’ve Got You

Bullpen’s family packs and party trays are designed for groups of 4 to 50. You pick the meats, the sides, the sauces, we handle the rest. It’s ideal for game day, office lunches, tailgates, or casual backyard get-togethers.

The Vibe and the Service

There’s nothing fancy about Bullpen, and that’s part of the charm. It’s laid-back, efficient, and friendly. The service is fast, and the portions are generous. If you're heading to a game or just passing through, it’s the kind of place you stop once and remember for good.

Bottom Line

Bullpen BBQ isn’t trying to be trendy. We’re focused on getting the basics right: smoke, seasoning, consistency, and care. In a city full of barbecue joints, that’s what sets us apart.
